Balaam and The Angel

Alternative Post Punk / New Wave / Gothic Rock pioneers.

The band were amongst the front runners in the early to mid 1980s alternative scene and in 1984 ingeniously spawned the highly successful Chapter 22 Record label (responsible for the initial releases from The Mission, Neds Atomic Dustbin, Pop Will Eat Itself) before moving on to Virgin Records.
During the period 1984 – 1988 the band toured relentlessly playing in the UK, Europe and North America, and enjoyed much success with their own sell out shows as well as appearances at Reading Festival and with bands such as The Cult, Iggy Pop, Aerosmith, Kiss, Midnight Oil, The Mission, Killing Joke, L.A. Guns etc. The band’s single ‘I’ll Show You Something Special’ was featured on the Steve Martin/John Candy film ‘Trains Planes & Automobiles’ and the band featured on several British TV shows most notably The Tube with Paula Yates and Jools Holland.
As always, the band boasts the original line up of Mark, Jim & Des Morris and is still regarded as one of the best live acts and leading lights of their genre.
